Derek Robertson is the owner and photographer behind Derek Robertson Photography, specializing in high school and youth sports photography throughout the Hudson Valley and Section IX.

Before becoming a photographer, Derek spent 16 years as a professional sports photo editor, developing a keen eye for timing, composition, and the moments that make a photograph stand out.

Today, he brings that experience to the sidelines, focusing on more than just the action. The goal is to capture the emotion, intensity, personality, and moments that tell the story of the athlete and the game.

Whether covering a high school game, youth team, media day, or individual athlete session, Derek approaches every assignment with the same goal: create photographs that athletes and families will be proud to keep.

A U.S. Army veteran and graduate of Florida State University, Derek brings a unique combination of education, professional experience, and storytelling to his photography.

When he's not photographing sports, Derek also enjoys drone and nature photography and calls Orange County, NY home.
